LTA Position Open at Roosevelt/Schaumburg

Roosevelt University Library in Schaumburg seeks a part-time Library Public Services Assistant to join our service-oriented staff for approximately 17 hours/week. Responsibilities include: circulation; processing of reserves and interlibrary loans; directing students to library resources; answering phone and email requests; shelving books and journals; helping students with copiers and printers; and assisting with library displays. Position requires excellent public service attitude and communication skills, basic computer and word processing skills, and attention to detail. Previous customer service experience preferred. Some flexibility in scheduling, but must be available for at least one evening/week and 1 Saturday/month. Salary range from $8.50/hour. Scholarships Available

The Helen M. Plum Memorial Library is now accepting applications for a scholarship for graduate or undergraduate study in library science. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage students with demonstrated scholarship, talent and potential to enter the library profession. There are two scholarships of $400 each available for undergraduate education. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees, computer equipment or other expenses related to the pursuit of the appropriate degree.
