LTA Job Opening -- Loyola Academy

Technology Library Aide
Loyola Academy (Wilmette).
Assist students with computer applications, subscription databases and Internet searching. Maintain, troubleshoot and update staff and student computers in the Library. Work with teacher-librarians to train staff on the use of library computer systems and applications. Collect usage statistics and create reports for all subscription databases. Work with a librarian on library web page design and maintenance. Check out materials. Substitute at Reference Desk. Help with annual inventory. Qualifications: LTA plus 1 year experience. Must be computer literate, possess a strong interest in technology, be proficient in Windows operating systems and MS Office software, with specific expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Library automation experience highly desirable. Reference and reader’s advisory experience preferred. Experience working with teenagers required, experience in teaching or tutoring preferred. Experience with web page design and creation and maintenance. Experience with Adobe GoLive and HTML preferred. The position begins January 3 or upon availability.
